Why Travel Logs?

These writings are meant to function almost like transparency documents - I want you to be able to literally know what I did when I traveled, down to the finest minutiae: how I looked into certain issues, what my day-to-day looked like, any obstacles or emotions felt during the course of the travel.  This might even be to the point of oversharing, though you’re free to engage with it as little or as much as you’d like. If you want to know, you can - maybe that’s enough.  Hopefully this can be a resource for you in some way, or perhaps just a reference point. Part of it is admittedly selfish, for my own edification as I reflect on my experiences and try to detangle them in my mind, as well as for my own keepsake - a digital memory bank.

Photos will accompany all of these writings, but they will primarily be phone dumps. I’m also carrying a dslr camera, a gopro hero 9, a dji osmo pocket 3, and a thermal imaging scope capable of recording video and imagery. It will be my task to filter through and curate this material at a later date, but the frequency with which I need to write these entries, upload photos, and generate an accompanying map will not allow any more than a cursory sorting through my phone’s gallery for this series of travel logs, with minimal edits.

Please enjoy these daily entries - more complete writing and synthesis will follow.
